Firstly, we’re mad about furniture. Our founder, Rob, spent many years as an antique dealer before deciding to diversify and to source new furniture to sell alongside the antiques.
Rob introduced reclaimed pine furniture to Scotland and this was so well received that Olympian Antiques soon became Olympian Pine.
As the business grew, so did our range of products. We moved to a bigger shop in Angle Park Terrace in Edinburgh to accommodate the ever expanding number of items and word spread rapidly about Olympian.
Today we have three shops. The antiques no longer feature as part of our offer but they definitely influence our choices. We’re still at Angle Park Terrace in Edinburgh and we now have two other shops in Glasgow with one in the West End and the other in Giffnock on the South Side.
Rob is still very hands on in the business, he still does all the buying and travels the world constantly in search of unusual and interesting furniture. Guided by his trained eye and his understanding of the key ingredients of great furniture, Rob remains focused on ensuring that Olympian only offer the best value products available.

Great care is taken to ensure that materials used are from sustainable, well-managed sources. Where timber is used we want to know that it’s reclaimed or that re-plantation programmes are being implemented. We do not buy from factories which employ children or don’t have satisfactory employment conditions for their staff.
