Your Guide to Measuring Up for Your New Furniture
You may spend countless hours deciding on the design, colour and style of your new furniture and on planning where you’ll position it when it arrives. One of the things that’s all too easy to overlook is whether the furniture will actually go through your front door, up your stairs or into your room of choice. To avoid any unnecessary frustration, we’ve produced this guide to measuring so that you can be sure your choice of new furniture will fit before you place your order.
We quote a minimum of three measurements on every piece of furniture we sell. These are height, width (length) and depth. This allows you to work out exactly what will fit in your space and, as importantly, what won’t!
Although some of our larger pieces of furniture arrive part-assembled for ease of delivery, most of our furniture is cabinetmade and arrives fully assembled. It’s therefore particualry important that you measure up for access before ordering.
(We’ll fully assemble any part-assembled items for you as part of the Delivery Service.)
What if it goes into the room but is too big or too small?
Even if you know access for your new furniture won’t be an issue, you may be
concerned about the size of the piece in proportion to your room and your other furniture. One simple way of checking is to use a newspaper template or to mark out your floor with masking tape. You can then stand back and obtain a better sense of perspective.
Its also good to check that you have enough space to walk around your furniture and open doors, drawers etc. With dining tables, you need to make sure you have at least 60cm clearance for the chair when it's out from the table in order to sit comfortably.
Some quick, approximate imperial/metric conversions:
1" = 2.5cm
12" = 30.5cm
3 feet = 91.4cm

Please make sure your new furniture will fit through the doors of your home when we deliver it. We supply at least 3 measurements and to avoid disappointment we'd encourage you to take a few moments to measure up.
You should allow for anything immovable that's likely to get in the way such as radiators or bannisters.
If you think it's going to be tricky, then please ask in-store. Some of our most popular sofas come with removeable arms and many of our dining tables come with removeable legs in order to simplify delivery into your home. Our sales staff have an in-depth knowledge of which items come part-assembled and which ones don’t.

Please note: This is only a guide and doesn't guarantee your furniture purchase will fit. Please think about the size constraints of the entire path from our delivery vehicle to your furniture's intended place in your home.
